Delete Your Speakle Account

1. How to Request Deletion
To delete your Speakle account and associated data:
1. Email support@speakle.xyz from the email address associated with your Speakle account.
2. Use the subject line "Delete my account".
3. We will verify the request and confirm by email once it has been received.
We aim to acknowledge every deletion request within 5 business days.
2. What We Delete
Once your deletion request is processed, we permanently delete or anonymize:
• Your account and profile (name, email, username, avatar/profile photo)
• Conversation practice history (flow sessions and message transcripts)
• Flashcard and vocabulary learning progress (word scores, review history)
• Public leaderboard entry, if you opted in
• Teacher–student links and in-app chat messages tied to your account
Voice recordings are not retained at all beyond the moment they are processed by our speech-to-text provider — see our Privacy Policy for details.
3. What We Retain, and Why
Some information may be kept for a limited time after deletion, only where necessary:
• Billing and subscription records held by our payment processor (Stripe), retained as required for tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention purposes
• Records required to comply with a legal obligation, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements
• Aggregated or de-identified data that can no longer be linked back to you
We do not use retained data for any purpose other than the ones described above.
4. Timeline
Your account and personal data are deleted or anonymized within 30 days of a verified request, consistent with our Privacy Policy, except where a longer retention period is required by law.
